Cardiopulmonary Services
Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services to diagnose and treat breathing disorders and cardiac disease. The Cardiopulmonary Department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with licensed respiratory care practitioners who, under the direction of a physician, are trained to perform procedures that are both diagnostic and therapeutic. They serve an active and important role in the hospital’s lifesaving emergency response team, and are present at every newborn delivery.
The department provides a broad range of services, including:
- Oxygen therapy
- Inhaled medication therapy
- Pulmonary Function Testing
- Non-invasive ventilation
- Patient and family education/teaching
- Smoking cessation counseling
- Airway management, including intubation
- Arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Mechanical ventilation
- Cardiac stress testing - NEW!
- Cardiac stress echograms
- 24-hour holter monitoring
- 30-day holter monitoring
- EKG
