Family-Centered Maternity Care Birthing Spa
Our
maternity area is designed to be a family-centered maternity care
unit. Our highly skilled and experienced nurses use the latest technology
and medical advancements to provide quality care to our mothers,
newborns and families. Our nursing staff includes internationally certified childbirth educators as well as internationally board-certified lactation consultants.
On our maternity care unit, the expectant mother arrives, labors,
delivers and cares for her newborn in the same room. Our large private birthing suites have a “home-like” atmosphere and include jacuzzi tubs in your private bath, massage chairs, sleeper chairs and large showers with multiple shower heads. Each room provides direct access
to a manicured courtyard featuring a rose garden and a beautiful rock
water fountain.
You are encouraged to invite additional family/support people to
attend during your labor and/or delivery. We offer a wide range
of birthing plans from epidurals and medicated labors to "natural"
births. Some cultures have other wishes for a delivery atmosphere,
which we will examine with you. We encourage breastfeeding as the
best nourishment for your newborn, but realize other means may be
more appropriate for you. We are here to assist you in learning
what is best for your family.
Our nursing staff will closely monitor you and your baby after
your delivery. Your baby, as well as your significant other, will
be allowed to stay in the room and bond with his/her family. Our
staff will teach you the skills you will need to care for your newborn
and to better understand his/her wants and needs. We want you to
be comfortable in your new role as a mother, so we offer a variety
of educational materials and demonstrations.
We also offer two classes to our expectant mothers.
